As we did in Week 9, focus your discussion on “holism” and your emerging role as a nurse educator. How is this concept tied to your teaching practices? Tie your discussion to QSEN, IOM recommendations, your personal goals, course objectives, NLN Nurse Educator competencies, and South University’s College of Nursing Conceptual Framework Pillars (Caring, Communication, Critical Thinking, Professionalism, and Holism). Finally, evaluate how you have achieved each of the course competencies and your plans to develop further in these areas. The course competencies for this course are as follows:
Analyze the role of the nurse educator.
Conduct a learner assessment for the class/classes assigned.
Prepare a formal teaching plan.
Enact the role of nurse educator in didactic class/classes.
Enact the role of nurse educator in a clinical setting.
Attend a curriculum or course planning meeting.
Describe how caring and holism are integrated into the teaching experience
Be sure you write this journal “off-line” and then copy/paste to this discussion forum (do not upload as a Word document). This will be something you will want to look back at as you progress forward in your upcoming role as a nurse educator.Reflective Discussion Rubric (applies to all weeks)
